The Ultimate Construction Conversion Matrix is a free, browser-based conversion tool built for the people who actually stand on the job site: project managers, site engineers, estimators, surveyors and machine operators.

Why we built it

Every construction day is full of small, expensive math: how many cubic yards are in 20 tons of gravel? What's 3,500 PSI in MPa? How many meters is 12' 5 7/8"? Phone calculators are fiddly with gloves on, and googling conversions wastes time and loads pages full of ads. We put the answers one tap away, with material presets up front and big, readable numbers that work in sun glare and in a dark site trailer.

How the math works

Every conversion is routed through base SI units internally — kilograms, meters, pascals, newton-meters — and only then converted to your target unit. That keeps the factor table consistent and maintainable, and it means you can type into any field in a group and the others update instantly, with no "Convert" button.

Weight-to-volume conversions (tons ↔ yards ↔ m³) depend on material density. We ship typical field densities for concrete, dry sand, wet sand, gravel, asphalt, crushed stone and water. These are planning-grade values: always confirm paid quantities against supplier scale tickets.
